Metro Manila, Philippines – Carlos Yulo captured his second Asian Games gold medal after ruling the men’s vault final on Friday, Sept. 25, at the Nagoya General Gymnasium in Japan.

The 26-year-old gymnast star vaulted his way to the top by the slimmest of margins against Mahdi Olfati of Iran.

Yulo garnered a total score of 14.599, while Olfati tallied 14.533 to settle for the silver medal. Ng Ka Ki of Hong Kong snagged the bronze with 14.166.

Just like his triumph in the men’s floor exercise, Yulo took the gold in the event that he is the reigning Olympic champion.

The Philippines increased its medal haul to seven in the continental meet.
