Metro Manila, Philippines – Fourteen-time GRAMMY Award-winning artist Taylor Swift will release a new original song for Disney and Pixar’s upcoming film Toy Story 5, following the success of her latest album The Life of a Showgirl.
The song, titled “I Knew It, I Knew You,” was written and produced by Swift and Jack Antonoff and will be released on June 5 across streaming and digital platforms. It will also be included in the film’s official soundtrack, set for release on June 19.
Inspired by the character Jessie and her continuing story arc in the Toy Story franchise, the track marks a return to Swift’s country roots while blending elements of her broader musical style.
Toy Story 5 director and screenwriter Andrew Stanton said Swift’s contribution added emotional depth to the film.
“It’s incredible just how meaningful it’s been having Taylor write and perform this song. Her connection to Jessie and the immediate way she understood what the character was going through was undeniable,” Stanton said.
Pre-sales have also begun for three exclusive CD editions of the single on Swift’s website, featuring the film version, as well as acoustic and piano versions with unique vocals and production.
The announcement follows teaser billboards that appeared in several cities worldwide, including Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco, Toronto, Mexico City and London, ahead of the official reveal.
Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5 is set for theatrical release in Philippine cinemas on June 17.
