Metro Manila, Philippines — Korean medical thriller Hyper Knife has earned a nomination at the 2026 International Emmy Awards.
The Disney+ Korea Original will compete in the TV Movie/Mini-Series category at the awards ceremony in New York City on Nov. 23.
Hyper Knife is nominated alongside Spain’s Anatomía de un Instante (The Anatomy of a Moment), Brazil’s Máscaras de Oxigênio Não Cairão Automaticamente (Oxygen Masks Will Not Drop Down Automatically) and the United Kingdom’s Prisoner 951.
The International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced 64 nominees from 22 countries across 16 categories.
The winners will be announced during the 54th International Emmy Awards Gala.
Other Disney+ productions also received nominations.
The United Kingdom’s A Thousand Blows will compete in the Drama Series category.
Mexico’s La Peor Vuelta al Mundo (The Worst Trip Around the World) was nominated for Non-Scripted Entertainment.
First released in March 2025, Hyper Knife follows Jeong Seok, a gifted neurosurgeon whose obsession with operating and improving her skills eventually puts her at odds with her mentor.
After uncovering a shocking truth, Seok is stripped of her medical license and rejected by the medical establishment.
She continues performing illegal operations on dangerous and unwanted clients until the mentor who destroyed her career asks for her help.
The request forces Seok to choose between performing an operation considered impossible and seeking revenge against the man who took away her future.
The eight-episode series stars Park Eunbin, known for Extraordinary Attorney Woo and The King’s Affection, as Jeong Seok.
Sul Kyunggu plays her former mentor, Choi Deokhee.
Hyper Knife was written by Kim Sunhee and directed by Kim Junghyun.
