Dubai chamber opens Manila office to boost PH trade ties

Dubai International Chamber has officially opened its first representative office in Manila on April 14, signaling a more deliberate push to strengthen trade and investment flows between the Philippines and Dubai.

Metro Manila, Philippines – The Dubai International Chamber has opened its first representative office in Manila, marking a push to strengthen trade and investment ties between the Philippines and Dubai.

The launch, held April 14, aims to support Filipino companies looking to expand abroad while attracting more Dubai-based firms to invest in the Philippines.

“The Philippines is one of Dubai’s fastest-growing trade partners in Southeast Asia,” said Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah. “The Manila office will support Filipino companies in exploring opportunities in Dubai and expanding their international presence.”

Data showed non-oil trade between Dubai and the Philippines rose 17 percent in 2025 to AED 3.58 billion, highlighting growing economic ties.

The number of Filipino firms registered with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce also reached 2,592 by end-2025, up 23.3 percent year on year, with 856 new companies joining during the period.

The Manila office will provide market intelligence, connect businesses with partners, and help firms from both sides expand cross-border operations.

It will also assist Dubai-based companies entering the Philippine market by offering local insights and identifying investment opportunities.

The launch was attended by government and business leaders, including First Lady Liza Louise Araneta-Marcos and UAE Ambassador Mohamed Obaid Salem Al Qatam Alzaabi.

The office builds on earlier business engagements, including a 2025 trade mission that led to 180 business meetings and a cooperation agreement with the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The Manila expansion is part of the Dubai Chambers’ “Dubai Global” initiative, which seeks to establish 50 international offices by 2030 to boost trade and attract foreign investment.
