Metro Manila, Philippines – Public school teachers can look forward to more non-monetary benefits in the next two years as President Bongbong Marcos vowed that the education sector will remain a top priority in the remainder of his term.
These are free medical services and allowance, service recognition, and promotion opportunities. The current education budget is ₱1.34 trillion.
“Our responsibility as a government is to stand beside you, making your profession more sustainable, more dignified, and more rewarding,” Marcos said during his speech in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, on Wednesday, Feb. 19. The president witnessed the oath-taking of newly promoted teachers and school heads under the Expanded Career Progression program from the Bulacan and Pampanga clusters.
Marcos highlighted the Yaman ng Kalusugan Program caravan, which aims to make free medical services accessible to teachers.
He said the Department of Budget and Management recently released ₱7.37 billion in benefits under the Service Recognition Incentive program for eligible teaching and non-teaching personnel nationwide.
He further cited the ₱10,000 teaching allowance and ₱7,000 medical allowance for the school year 2025–2026.
“Patuloy din nating pinapalawak ang oportunidad para sa promotion ng mga guro sa pamamagitan ng pagbubukas ng mas maraming senior positions,” Marcos said, promising that more senior positions will be made available for teachers who wish to advance.

“Talaga naman ang serbisyo ninyo ay para sa bayan, hindi lamang sa paaralan,” Marcos added.
