Metro Manila, Philippines – President Bongbong Marcos on Wednesday, May 6, assured the public of the government’s continued efforts to address the needs of those affected by the unrest of Mayon Volcano.

During a situation briefing at Malacañang, the president said government agencies are facilitating assessment, relief, and medical operations.

These include the distribution of face masks and potable water, along with the deployment of mobile clinics, Starlink units, and water purification systems to the people in Albay.

He said ash-clearing operations are also under way.

Meanwhile, in a separate press briefing, Palace press officer Claire Castro reported that tens of thousands of food packs, ready-to-eat food boxes, and non-food items have been distributed.

The volcano is still under Alert Level 3, with a six-kilometer radius permanent danger zone.

“Titiyakin ng mga ahensya ng pamahalaan ang tuloy-tuloy na tulong at mabilis na pagbangon ng mga apektadong lugar,” the Palace said in a press release.
