‘Supergirl’ takes flight in new DC Studios film set for 2026 release

Metro Manila, Philippines – Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Studios are set to bring a new version of “Supergirl” to the big screen in 2026, with Milly Alcock starring as Kara Zor-El in an interstellar tale of vengeance, justice and reluctant alliances.

In the film, an unexpected and ruthless adversary strikes close to home, forcing Kara Zor-El – better known as “Supergirl” – to join forces with an unlikely companion as she embarks on an epic journey across the cosmos.

“Supergirl” is directed by Craig Gillespie from a screenplay by Ana Nogueira. Alcock leads the cast in the dual role of Supergirl and Kara Zor-El, joined by Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, and Jason Momoa.

DC Studios chiefs Peter Safran and James Gunn are producing the film, which is based on DC characters originally created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. The film is executive produced by Nigel Gostelow, Chantal Nong Vo and Lars P. Winther.

“Supergirl” will be released in theaters and IMAX across North America on June 26, 2026, and internationally beginning June 24, 2026.
