Metro Manila, Philippines – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will visit Singapore on Wednesday, Oct. 7, for a five-day working visit that will include investment engagements, a visit to a nuclear research institute, and the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix.
Marcos will be in Singapore from Oct. 7 to 11 upon the invitation of Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
The president will participate in the 24th Forbes Global CEO Conference, where he will sit down with Forbes Media Chairman and editor-in-chief Steve Forbes.
Marcos is expected to promote investment opportunities in digital technology and artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, infrastructure, energy, and health care.
The conference is expected to gather more than 470 business leaders from Singapore and around the world, providing Marcos an opportunity to pitch the country’s investment priorities.
Marcos will also visit the Singapore Nuclear Research and Safety Institute to learn about the country’s expertise in nuclear research, safety and regulation.
The DFA said the engagement could support the Philippines’ long-term energy planning and open opportunities for future cooperation in nuclear science, safety, research and capacity-building.
The visit follows discussions Marcos held with Singapore’s Temasek Foundation and Ayala Corp. during his previous working visit to Singapore in July.
Marcos will also attend a dinner hosted by Wong on the sidelines of the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix.
Wong personally invited Marcos to the race, which the DFA said is expected to bring together government leaders, business executives, and investors from around the world.
The department said the event could provide opportunities for informal engagements that complement the president’s investment-related meetings.
The trip also comes as the Philippines prepares to conclude its ASEAN chairship and Singapore prepares to take over in 2027.
The DFA said the two countries are expected to discuss regional developments and cooperation on economic integration, the digital economy, energy and food security.
