Metro Manila, Philippines – The weather bureau raised a red rainfall warning for Metro Manila and a number of areas in Luzon on Wednesday morning, Aug. 19, as the southwest monsoon, or babagat, dumps heavy rains that causes flooding.

+Zambales: Cabangan, San Felipe, San Antonio, San Narciso, Botolan, San Marcelino, Olongapo, Subic, Castillejos
+Bulacan: Marilao, Bocaue, Bulakan, Meycauayan, Obando, Balagtas, Hagonoy, Paombong, Malolos, Calumpit, Guiguinto, Pulilan, Plaridel
+Pampanga: Masantol, Sasmuan, Macabebe, Lubao, Floridablanca
+Batangas: Nasugbu, Lian, Calatagan, Balayan, Tuy
+Cavite: Ternate, Maragondon, Naic, Tanza, Rosario, Cavite City, Noveleta, Bacoor, Kawit, Magallanes, General Emilio Aguinaldo, General Trias, Imus, Trece Martires
Meanwhile, an orange rainfall warning was issued over parts of Zambales, Bulacan, Pampanga, Rizal, Tarlac, Cavite, Laguna, and Batangas, where flooding remains a threat.
A yellow rainfall alert is in effect in parts of Nueva Ecija, Rizal, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Quezon, Batangas, and Laguna, with flooding possible in low areas.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) also reported light to moderate rains over parts of Quezon and Laguna, which may persist for the next three hours and could impact nearby areas.
