Monsoon rains

Even though it’s not expected to make landfall, the presence of Typhoon Falcon (international name: Chan-hom) is expected to enhance the southwest monsoon.

The monsoon rains may trigger flashfloods and landslides not only in Metro Manila but in the regions of Ilocos, Cordillera, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, and Mimaropa, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 5:00 a.m. weather forecast.

At around 9:57 a.m., PAGASA released an urban flood alert, where it reported tire and gutter deep floods in barangays at Marikina and Quezon City.
