PH vows seamless, world-class ASEAN hosting

Metro Manila, Philippines – The Philippines is committing to a world-class and seamless hosting of the 48th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit, with Malacañang saying all preparations are in place ahead of the regional gathering in Cebu.

Palace press officer Claire Castro said the government is ready to stage a secure and efficient summit.

“All systems go for the hosting of the 48th ASEAN Summit,” Castro said.

She added that technical and strategic preparations are complete.

The summit, set from May 6 to 8, will bring together leaders from Southeast Asia to tackle key regional issues, including energy security, food supply, and the impact of global tensions.

Malacañang said the event will focus on political-security, economic, and socio-cultural cooperation, as well as the impact of the Middle East crisis.

Local officials in Cebu have also assured the public of readiness, with security, traffic management, and venue preparations already in place.

The government said the Philippines aims to deliver a “secure, efficient, and world-class” summit that reflects ASEAN’s shared commitment to regional stability and cooperation.
