Metro Manila, Philippines – Drivers of passenger jeepneys and UV Express units in Metro Manila can now enjoy the government’s ₱10-per-liter fuel subsidy, with 46 gasoline stations implementing the program as of Thursday, April 16.
The gas stations were selected based on six routes identified by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), according to the Department of Energy (DOE).
These routes include Commonwealth Avenue, Marcos Highway, Quezon Avenue–España Boulevard, A. Bonifacio Avenue (Cloverleaf–Blumentritt), Rizal Avenue, and Zapote Road.
“This subsidy is immediate, targeted, and practical relief. It helps reduce fuel costs for our public utility vehicle drivers and operators, supports the continued viability of transport operations, and helps ease further pressure on commuters who rely on affordable public transportation every day,” Energy Secretary Sharon Garin said.
The implementation also coincides with the ₱20.89-per-liter diesel price rollback effective April 14, 2026, bringing total relief to more than ₱30 per liter for public utility vehicle drivers.
The subsidy program is being implemented in close coordination with LANDBANK, which serves as the program’s digital payment platform provider.
Public utility vehicles validated by the LTFRB and enrolled in the bank’s fuel subsidy platform will have the discount automatically applied upon payment at participating stations.
“The program will be expanded to other parts of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao once the LTFRB has identified routes for coverage in the next phases of implementation,” the agency said in a statement.
