
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 23) — The 31st Asia Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF) in Manila formally began on Thursday, Nov. 23.
Senate President Migz Zubiri and House Speaker Martin Romualdez welcomed around 300 parliament members from 28 countries in the region.
\”On behalf of the Congress of the Philippines, we welcome all of you to the 31st annual meeting of the Asia Pacific Parliamentary Forum in Manila,\” Romualdez said in his opening remarks at the Philippine International Convention Center.
\”This is the second time we are hosting the APPF since 1994. Thank you very much for your attendance and we hope you enjoy your stay here in Manila,\” he added.
The forum will run until Nov. 25.
Zubiri earlier said that the West Philippine Sea issue will be discussed during the APPF.
Delegates will meet with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in Malacañ ang on Thursday evening.
