United to launch direct US-PH flights on Oct. 29

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 19) — US carrier United Airlines will launch a direct nonstop flight from San Francisco to Manila beginning Oct. 29, according to the company’s website.

United is the only US carrier to have nonstop flights from the North American country to Manila.

Flag carrier Philippine Airlines offers direct flights to five US destinations, namely, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Honolulu, and the US territory Guam in the western Pacific.

Moreover, United also added daily nonstop flights from Los Angeles to Hong Kong starting October 28, and between San Francisco and Taiwan beginning Oct. 29.

In a statement, United said that it will use its Boeing B777-300ER aircraft for the route. The aircraft offers 60 seats in the business cabin, 24 seats in the premium plus cabin, and 266 seats in the economy class.
