New COVID-19 cases drop to 4,281 on June 12-18

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 19) — The number of new COVID-19 cases fell to 4,281 during the week of June 12 to 18, the Department of Health (DOH) reported on Monday

In its weekly bulletin, the DOH said the daily average number of infections was 612, down by 35% from the week before.

Of the fresh cases, 57 were in severe and critical condition. A total of 477 severe COVID-19 patients are in hospitals, representing 10.6% of the total COVID-19 admissions in the country.

Health officials also verified one death due to COVID-19 that occurred in May.

As of June 19, the nationwide confirmed cases since the pandemic began is at over 4.1 million with at least 4.08 million recoveries and 66,482 deaths. The tally of active cases is at 8,659.

More than 78 million people or 100.44% of the target population have been vaccinated against COVID-19 while 23 million people got booster shots.
