Palace suspends classes, gov’t work in Metro Manila

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Malacañan announced the suspension of classes and government work in Metro Manila late Monday afternoon (July 6).

The suspension of classes covers both public and private schools in all levels. It was announced through Memorandum Circular No. 77.

The circular was made upon the recommendation of the National Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) due to Tropical Storm Egay.

Government agencies involved in the delivery of basic and health services and disaster response, among others will not be affected by the suspension.

Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority also lifted the number coding for vehicles today. This was to enable office workers to go home early due to the suspension of government work.
