(CNN Philippines) — Authorities are now investigating the site in Mt. Maculot, Cuenca, Batangas where a private helicopter crashed and left two people dead on Sunday (July 5).
The local police said the investigators will look into possible angles aside from bad weather, such as mechanical failure or human error.
Although Joel Laraya, chief senior inspector of Cuenca Police, said heavy rainfall could be the primary reason why the chopper fell.

Laraya cites an eyewitness and a survivor who accounts that the helicopter was flying amid foggy skies before it plunged to the ground.
Officials from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) are also set to inspect the crash site this afternoon (July 6).
CAAP is now investigating why the chopper still went to flight despite bad weather.
They are also checking the profile of the pilot and the Augusta 109E type helicopter.
