
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Classes were suspended in some parts of Luzon affected by Tropical Storm Egay.

Under Memorandum Circular No. 77, Malacañan announced on Monday afternoon (July 6) the suspension of work in government offices as well as classes in all levels, both public and private, in Metro Manila.
It was issued upon the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

Earlier, the University of Santo Tomas announced that classes held in the St. Raymund de Peñafort Bldg are suspended on Monday, as assessment of the damage caused by a fire on Sunday evening (July 5) is being done.
Work suspension
The provincial capitol of La Union suspended work on Monday citing floods in several towns in the province. But employees involved in rescue and clearing operations were advised to report to their posts.
Government work at Cavite Province was also suspended.
