Marcos flies to Japan for World Expo, business meetings
Metro Manila, Philippines - President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. was bound for Japan on Thursday, June 19, to attend the World Expo 2025 in Osaka and hold business meetings.
Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado Estrella III, and Education Secretary Sonny Angara have been appointed caretakers of the government, Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said.
Castro said Marcos will be visiting the country’s pavilion in the World Expo Osaka, which would promote Philippine tourism.
She said a “small” delegation will accompany the chief executive.
The president will also conduct business meetings, details of which were not disclosed, and meet the Filipino community there.
Marcos is expected to return by the weekend.
