Metro Manila, Philippines – Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson stepped onto the red carpet for the New York premiere of psychological thriller “Verity” at AMC Lincoln Square on Sept. 29.
The two stars were joined by Josh Hartnett, Ismael Cruz Cordova, director and producer Michael Showalter, and author Colleen Hoover, whose bestselling novel inspired the film.
“Verity” follows struggling writer Lowen Ashleigh, played by Johnson, who is hired to ghostwrite for acclaimed author Verity Crawford, portrayed by Hathaway.
Lowen moves into the Crawford estate to work on the project, where she discovers what appears to be a disturbing autobiographical manuscript containing revelations about Verity, her husband Jeremy, played by Hartnett, and their family.
The discovery pulls Lowen deeper into the Crawfords’ lives as she struggles to determine what is real and what is fiction.
The psychological thriller is directed by Showalter from a screenplay by Nick Antosca. Hathaway and Hoover are also among the film’s producers, while Johnson serves as an executive producer.
The film also stars Cordova and Brady Wagner.
“Verity” is now showing in Philippine cinemas.
