Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 11) — The Philippines’ economic managers are set to hold briefings for business leaders and investors in the United States this week in a bid to attract more foreign investments in the country.
Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman, Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno, National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Secretary Arsenio Balisacan, and Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Felipe Medalla compose the team that will engage with business executives in Washington, D.C. on April 12, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) said in a statement on Tuesday.
The group is expected to tackle the country’s economic performance, key liberalization reforms, priority expenditures, and development plan during the process, the DBM added.
Representatives from the country’s development partners will also be present during the meetings.
\”The country’s economic team is also set to join sideline meetings with Fitch Ratings and financial institutions, including the World Bank and IMF (International Monetary Fund), for the annual spring meetings,\” the agency said.
Earlier this year, the economic managers flew to various cities in Europe to pitch investment opportunities in the Philippines.
