Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 8) — Two entomologists from Singapore and the Philippines have discovered a real-life Pokémon.
Nocticola pheromosa, which was named after the cockroach-like character Pheromosa, was discovered by Singaporean Foo Maosheng of Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum (LKCNHM) and Filipino Cristian Lucañas of the UPLB Museum of Natural History.
The two turned out to be both fans of the popular video game and animated series franchise. A new insect species (Nocticola pheromosa) has been described from Singapore, and it serves as the first record of this genus in Singapore. At the same time, it is also named after a Pokémon,” said Maosheng in a Facebook post. ‘ ‘4’: ‘contentWidth’: ‘100%’ ’embedCode’: ‘
