
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 9) — The cremated remains of the two Filipinos executed in China for drug trafficking arrived in the Philippines on Friday, a Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) official said.
DFA Undersecretary Eduardo de Vega confirmed in a message to CNN Philippines on Saturday that Philippine Consulate officials have brought home the cremains of the Filipinos put to death on Nov. 24.
\”They were turned over to the families yesterday and today,\” he said.
Two other Filipinos are on death row in China, with their cases still being appealed, the DFA earlier said.
It reported that including the recent executions, a total of 92 Filipino death penalty cases have been recorded in the East Asian country.
These include two cases which have been reduced to life imprisonment, while 86 have been commuted to fixed-term, it added
