Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 13) — There will be no face-to-face classes in some schools from Dec. 14 to 15 due to the nationwide transport strike by a group of drivers and operators protesting the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program.
The Pagkakaisa ng mga Samahan ng Tsuper at Opereytor Nationwide (PISTON) will push through with its two-day strike, as President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. remains firm on the Dec. 31 deadline for jeepney franchise consolidation.
PISTON said it expects around 100,000 members to join the protest action.
The following schools and local government units have announced that they will implement either synchronous or strictly online learning in anticipation of the impact of the strike.
