Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 13) — The F2 Logistics Cargo Movers have been disbanded after nearly a decade in the Philippine volleyball scene.
The club team on Tuesday announced that it will shift its focus to “grassroots” development.
\”Time has not been good to us. A number of injuries to our players forced us to take slower steps, prioritizing health over victories in the past few years,\” the team said in a statement.
\”We give our utmost thanks to the coaching staff who have fought and tried to make this team stronger,\” it also said. \”We would most like to thank Coach Ramil [De Jesus], for continuously heading the team.”
The Cargo Movers were once a powerhouse team in the now defunct Philippine Superliga, having won six championships.
But the team did not find the same luck in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), as its best finish was only a bronze medal during the first All-Filipino Conference for 2023 in March.
In their last PVL stint, the Cargo Movers finished 8th place after only winning four of seven matches in the second iteration of the All-Filipino Conference this year.
The F2 Logistics, the cargo company behind the club team, will remain as sponsor of the women’s volleyball program of De La Salle University.
The company also said it will extend support for the volleyball program of the University of Perpetual Help and in other parts of the country.
