Kalibo, Aklan (CNN Philippines, November 22) — The Provincial Government of Aklan has relaxed its travel restrictions for tourists of Boracay Island.
Aklan Governor Jose Enrique Moraflores released an executive order signed on Nov. 15, lifting the need to submit “hotel vouchers” online before visiting the world-class island.
In February 2022, Aklan required travelers and returning residents to secure hotel vouchers or tourist QR codes via its AKQUIRE System before they are allowed entry or re-entry into the province.
Travelers needed to present proof of identification, confirmed hotel bookings, negative RT-PCR test, round trip flights, and other travel details, in order to get a tourist QR code.
