Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 21) — The City of Manila will not implement a liquor and gun ban as the Filipino-Chinese community welcomes the Chinese New Year in Binondo, the Manila Police District (MPD) told CNN Philippines on Saturday.
‘
However, the MPD urged the public to still wear face masks amid the COVID-19 threat.
‘
Philipp Ines said in an interview on Newsroom Weekend.

[Translation: There will be no liquor and gun ban. Let’s just enjoy. But the local government and the Manila Police District are requesting the public to still wear face masks, because crowds will be celebrating and COVID-19 is still here. But this is not mandatory.]
‘
Ines added that around 3,200 policemen will be deployed to keep the revelries safe.
‘
