
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 21) — Half of the 24 senators posted a perfect attendance during the first regular session of the 19th Congress.
According to Senate records, Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri, Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva, Senate Minority Leader Koko Pimentel, and Senators Bato dela Rosa, JV Ejercito, Jinggoy Estrada, Sherwin Gatchalian, Bong Go, Risa Hontiveros, Loren Legarda, Robin Padilla, and Bong Revilla were present in all 39 plenary sessions from July 25 to Dec. 14, 2022.

Meanwhile, Senators Francis Escudero and Mark Villar had the highest number of absences with seven each.

For Escudero, two of his absences were due to local official missions, while six of Villar’s absences were because of official missions abroad.

Senator Alan Peter Cayetano had six absences and Senator Nancy Binay had five.

On the other hand, Senator Imee Marcos recorded four absences, three of which were on account of three official missions abroad.

Senator Francis Tolentino also had four absences and all of them were because of official overseas missions.

The rest of senators like Sonny Angara, Pia Cayetano, Lito Lapid, Grace Poe, Raffy Tulfo, and Cynthia Villar only had one to two absences.
