Metro Manila, Philippines- The Korean drama, “Perfect Crown,” starring IU and Byeon Wooseok, will premiere on Disney+ Philippines on Friday night, April 10.
The romantic comedy follows Grand Prince I-AN, a popular royal figure who becomes entangled in a power struggle within the royal family. Under pressure to marry, he enters into a marriage of convenience with Huiju, an heiress to a major Korean conglomerate, but their arrangement becomes complicated as emotions develop.
IU, known for her roles in “My Mister” and “When Life Gives You Tangerines,” plays Huiju, while Byeon Wooseok, who starred in “Lovely Runner” and “Strong Girl Nam-soon,” takes on the role of the prince.
The series is directed by Park Joonhwa, whose previous works include “Alchemy of Souls” and “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim,” and written by Yoo Jiwon.
The first episode will stream at 10:20 p.m., with new episodes scheduled every Friday and Saturday at the same time until the finale on May 16.
“Perfect Crown” is among the latest Korean titles on Disney+, as the platform continues to expand its lineup of Asian content, including upcoming releases such as “A Shop for Killers” Season 2 and “Made in Korea” Season 2.
