Metro Manila, Philippines – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. urged the public to let truth, humility, and compassion guide their actions as Filipino Catholics observe the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary on Monday, Dec. 8.
In his message, Marcos said the Immaculate Conception shows that “the way we begin matters” and emphasizes how intentions shape the result of one’s actions.
“The spirit in which we start a mission influences the fruit it bears. If we sow pride, we reap division; if we sow deceit, we reap distrust,” the president said.
“But if we begin with truth, humility, and compassion for the least among us, we can build a more just and peaceful Bagong Pilipinas: a nation where integrity, service, and the common good guide our every action,” he added.
Marcos invited Filipinos to reflect during the occasion, citing the Blessed Virgin Mary’s example of a life lived in faith.
‘”Through her intercession, may our leaders be guided by wisdom and discernment, our institutions purified at the root, and our people united in hope,” the chief executive said.
Marcos also wished the public a solemn and meaningful celebration.
December 8, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, is a special non-working day.
