
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — De La Salle University Lady Spiker Majoy Baron was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the women’s volleyball tournament in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP).
The UAAP released the list of winners of the individual awards on Wednesday morning.
Baron beat out the likes of National University star Jaja Santiago and teammate Kim Fajardo to the MVP plum.

Santiago took home the best scorer, best spiker, and best blocker awards, but failed to guide her team into the Final Four of this year’s tournament.
Fajardo on the other hand claimed the best server and best setter awards.

Marck Espejo claims fourth straight MVP award
In the men’s tournament, Ateneo’s Marck Espejo continued his dominance.
Espejo claimed the top honor among the special awards for the fourth straight year.
The Ateneo standout also came away with the best scorer and best spiker honors.
