Walang Pasok: Class, work suspensions for August 24

CALABARZON

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 24) – Some local government units and schools have ordered a suspension of classes and work Saturday due to continuous rains in parts of Luzon caused by Severe Tropical Storm “Ineng” and southwest monsoon.

Polytechnic University of the Philippines (college, open university, graduate school, college of law)

Noveleta, Cavite (all levels, public and private)

Here is an updated list of suspensions as of 1 p.m.:

METRO MANILA

ILOCOS REGION

Makati City (all levels, public and private)

San Fernando, La Union  (​all levels, public and private) ​​​​​​

Bagulin, La Union (all levels, public and private) 

Batac (all levels, public and private)

Arellano University (college)

Rainy weather will also persist over parts of Luzon and Visayas on Saturday due to Ineng and southwest monsoon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 11 a.m. update.

Laoag City (all levels, public and private)

In a post over Twitter, PUP said that the Bar review classes conducted by the PUP College of Law are excluded from the suspension.

Work for teaching personnel at the Arellano University was suspended, according to a post on the school’s Twitter account. It added that work for non-teaching personnel will be determined their superiors.

CORDILLERA ADMINISTRATIVE REGION

La Trinidad, Benguet (pre-school to senior high school, public and private)

PAGASA has not lifted Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2 over Batanes and Babuyan Islands and storm signal No. 1 over Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao, Kalinga, Northern Abra and Ilocos Norte.

PAGASA warned those areas under storm signals against strong winds and sea travel due to possible rough sea conditions.

Light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains may also prevail over Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Aklan, Antique, Iloilo, Guimaras, and the rest of Central Luzon and Cagayan Valley.
