PNP to deploy 100,000 cops for Undas 2026

Metro Manila, Philippines – Over 100,000 police personnel will be deployed nationwide as part of security measures in the observance of Undas 2026, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said in a Wednesday briefing.

Police Colonel Amante Daro, PNP Acting Executive Officer-Directorate for Operations, said in a briefing led by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) that this year’s Undas deployment is twice that of last year’s mobilization of over 50,000 police officers.

He said that 111,582 police personnel will be deployed across 5,628 cemeteries and columbaria nationwide to ensure a peaceful, orderly observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day on Nov. 1 and 2.

Other officers will be stationed at transport hubs, such as bus terminals, to safeguard travelers from criminal activities amid the influx of passengers.

Accounted for in the headcount are 11,782 personnel from other law enforcement units and 31,814 force multipliers, including Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams, PNP advocacy support groups, and local government unit employees tasked to assist in traffic management.

Daro noted that police visibility will be strengthened in malls, resorts, and other concentrated areas, particularly in the National Capital Region.

Roving police patrols will also oversee neighborhoods and residential communities while families are away for the holidays.
