Metro Manila, Philippines – The Philippine Embassy in Singapore is serving more Filipinos after moving to a larger facility that has allowed it to expand consular and government services, Philippine Ambassador Medardo Macaraig said Wednesday.
Macaraig said the bigger embassy has increased capacity for passport appointments and provided more space for services from agencies assisting Filipinos in Singapore. Pasted markdown
“Mas marami na pong slots ang passport ngayon kaysa sa dati dahil mas nakapagdagdag po kami ng lugar,” Macaraig said.

The embassy houses representatives from several government agencies, including the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Social Security System and Pag-IBIG Fund. PhilHealth also periodically provides services at the facility.
Macaraig said the embassy continues to coordinate with the Commission on Elections (Comelec) for overseas voter registration ahead of the 2028 elections.
The ambassador also highlighted the new embassy building’s SG Mark for Excellence in Design, which it received in September. He said it was also featured by Monocle Magazine in April 2026.
The embassy moved into the building in December 2025 before its inauguration in January.
Macaraig said an estimated 220,000 Filipinos live in Singapore, citing figures from the Department of Migrant Workers. More than 60% of Filipino workers there are professionals, he added.
“Sapagkat ang make-up po dito ng mga OFWs are about 60% are professionals. More than 60% are professionals,” Macaraig said.

Macaraig said the embassy is also strengthening reintegration and entrepreneurship programs for overseas Filipino workers preparing to eventually return to the Philippines.
