Metro Manila, Philippines – World No. 1 pickleball player Anna Leigh Waters will visit Manila on October 13-15 for the opening leg of the Franklin Asia Pickleball Showcase.
The Philippines will be the first stop of the multi-country event before it proceeds to Malaysia, Hong Kong and Vietnam.
Franklin Sports said Filipino fans and players would have the opportunity to watch Waters demonstrate the skills that made her the top-ranked player in professional pickleball.
“We couldn’t be prouder to bring the No. 1 player in the world, Anna Leigh Waters, to Manila,” said Jared Franklin, the company’s head of international operations.
Franklin Sports selected the Philippines to open the showcase as pickleball continues to expand across the country.
The company said the Philippine pickleball market recorded a 1,213 percent year-on-year growth rate.
“The Philippines is one of the fastest-growing pickleball markets in the world,” Franklin said.
The event will also feature equipment used by Waters, including a mystery paddle teased by the player on social media earlier this month.
Waters used the paddle when she won the Major League Pickleball finals, said Franklin Sports.
The venue, schedule, and fan activities have yet to be announced.
