Metro Manila, Philippines – The Michelin Guide has recognized a number of local hotels and resorts in its 2026 Key selection, highlighting luxury stays across the cities, islands, and coastal destinations.
El Nido Resorts Lagen Island and Raffles Makati received Two Michelin Keys, becoming the first hotels in the country to earn the distinction.
Michelin describes a Two-Key property as offering “an exceptional stay.”
Set within a forested cove in Bacuit Bay, El Nido Resorts Lagen Island offers water cottages, beachfront accommodations and forest rooms surrounded by Palawan’s limestone cliffs and dense greenery.
Raffles Makati, meanwhile, was promoted to Two Michelin Keys this year. The all-suite hotel features private butler service, original artwork, Writers Bar and a private pool in the heart of the country’s financial district.
The 2026 selection includes four newly awarded One Michelin Key properties, including El Nido Resorts Pangulasian Island in Palawan and Manami Resort in Negros Occidental.
A One-Key distinction recognizes hotels that provide “a very special stay.”
Pangulasian Island features villas located between a forested hillside and white-sand beach, while Manami Resort has 18 villas built along a wooded hillside overlooking the Sulu Sea.
Amanpulo in Palawan and Nay Palad Hideaway in Siargao also retained the One-Key distinctions they received last year.
Located on private Pamalican Island, Amanpulo combines seclusion with architecture inspired by the traditional Filipino bahay kubo.
Nay Palad Hideaway, meanwhile, reflects Siargao’s relaxed island character through airy villas, gardens and open spaces near the sea.
Michelin said the Philippine properties stood out for their “distinct character, strong sense of place” and Filipino hospitality.
The Michelin Key is the guide’s hotel counterpart to its Michelin Star system for restaurants.
Properties may receive One, Two or Three Keys based on the quality and distinctiveness of the guest experience.
