Metro Manila, Philippines – LANDBANK honored outstanding clients and institutional partners during its 2026 Gawad TANYAG (Tanging Yaman at Galing) Awards, on Aug. 7 as part of the bank’s 63rd anniversary celebration.
The ceremony recognized exemplary farmers and fishers, cooperatives, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), corporations, countryside financial institutions (CFIs), and microfinance institutions (MFIs) for their contributions to community development and inclusive growth.
Finance Secretary and LANDBANK Chair Frederick D. Go underscored the crucial role of the awardees in national development. “Sa loob ng mahigit anim na dekada, kayo ay naging mahalagang katuwang ng LANDBANK sa pagsusulong ng pambansang kaunlaran. Kasama ang ating mga magsasaka at mangingisda, kooperatiba, MSMEs, at mga institusyong pampinansyal, patuloy ninyong pinalalawak ang mga oportunidad na nagbibigay-lakas sa mga komunidad at nag-aambag sa pag-unlad ng ating bansa,” he said in a statement.
LANDBANK President and CEO Lynette V. Ortiz led the ceremony alongside Labor and Employment Secretary Francis N. Tolentino, National Treasurer Sharon P. Almanza, and key development partners.
“For decades, LANDBANK has stayed true to its identity as the people’s bank, because people have always been at the heart of everything we do. And so, the true wealth of this institution is not in our balance sheet – it lives in every farmer and fisherfolk, every cooperative, every enterprise, and partner that turns hard work into shared prosperity,” she added.
In his keynote address, Labor Secretary Tolentino highlighted the broader impact of the awardees’ accomplishments on Filipino families and communities.
“Ang inyong mga tagumpay ay hindi lamang nasusukat sa paglago ng inyong organisasyon o kabuhayan. Nasusukat din ito sa dami ng oportunidad na inyong nalilikha, sa mga trabahong inyong nasusuportahan, at sa mga pamilyang nagkakaroon ng mas magandang kinabukasan dahil sa inyong mga pagsisikap,” he said.
Honoring champions of progress
Among the awardees under the Gawad PITAK (Pinakatanging Kooperatiba) category were Nagkakaisang Magsasaka Agricultural Primary Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Caviteño Isabelino Multipurpose Cooperative, Kaagapay Agrarian Reform Cooperative, Barangka Credit Cooperative, and Ating Ani Nueva Ecija Multipurpose Cooperative for excellence in cooperative leadership and community empowerment.
The Ulirang Magsasaka and Ulirang Mangingisda awards were conferred on Deodany Cara and Teodulo Llego, respectively, for their contributions to the agriculture and fisheries sectors.
Accepting the award, Cara expressed gratitude for the Bank’s continued support to farmers, emphasizing that agriculture remains a viable path to a brighter future
“Sabi nila walang yumayaman sa pagsasaka. Pero ito po ang patunay na sa pagsasaka ay mayroong magandang kinabukasan. Sana po ito ay maging inspirasyon sa mga katulad kong magsasaka. Sana po ay patuloy at palawigin pa ng LANDBANK ang mga magagandang programa para sa aming mga magsasaka,” he said.
Leading this year’s Gawad KAAGAPAY (Korporasyon na KAagapay sa Ating GAnap na TagumPAY) category were Jonathan. Yacas, Sagittarian Agricultural Philippines, Inc., ACT (Machineries and Metal Craft) Corporation, Performance Builders & Developers Corporation, and Ayala Land, Inc., recognized for supporting business expansion, employment generation, and economic development.
Under the Gawad PFI (Partner Financial Institution) category, CARD MRI Rizal Bank, Inc. and Community Economic Ventures (A Microfinance NGO), Inc. were recognized for expanding financial inclusion across underserved sectors.
The Gawad MSME awardees included Vergel P. Mondia, Spouses Cherry and Jose Fernand Latog, Sandig Medical Clinic & Hospital, and Roger Acosta Pineda, whose enterprises contributed to job creation and local economic growth.
