Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 30) — Former Ateneo de Manila University point guard Forthsky Padrigao is bringing his talent to the University of Santo Tomas.
UST athletic director Fr. Rodel Cansancio, OP confirmed to CNN Philippines that the former Ateneo Blue Eagle is joining the UST Growling Tigers.
Cansancio added that Padrigao has already started training under head coach Pido Jarencio.
\”I think he has joined the practice twice already,” the school official said in chat message.
Padrigao was pivotal in Ateneo’s 12th men’s basketball championship title in UAAP Season 85.
He was also part of the season’s Mythical Five after averaging 11.6 points, 4.2 boards, 4.9 assists, and 2.2 steals per game.
The 21-year-old player decided to leave the Blue Eagles in August following sexual abuse allegations.
Ateneo also deemed Padrigao ineligible to play in this year’s Season 86 after failing to meet its academic requirements.
Padrigao is expected to suit up for the Growling Tigers in Season 87 next year.
