Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 6) — The Senate Committee on Oversight wants to finish the review of the confidential and intelligence funds (CIF) of various government offices by November, Senate President Migz Zubiri.
The panel convened on Wednesday its closed-door select oversight hearing on the CIF of different departments.
\”Hopefully, tapos na kami by mid-November,\” said Zubiri in a press briefing.
[Translation: Hopefully, we will be finished by mid-November.]
Zubiri said that more than 20 government offices have submitted their reports on their CIF from 2022 to 2023, but the panel has so far looked into two agencies.
The oversight committee will call the head of the agencies if there are vague parts in their CIF report.
\”Kasi kung medyo vague yung ibang items (If there are vague items), the committee has the power to invite these agencies to explain to us further in the executive session,\” said Zubiri.
