Single-ticketing system to be fully implemented in NCR by September

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 3) — The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Wednesday announced that it will fully implement the single-ticketing system in the National Capital Region by September.

The MMDA said there have been glitches in the initial rollout of the system but the implementation will push through as planned.

May konting glitches pa kaming nakita sa initial rollout, tulad nung Bayad Center. 5,000 pala ang outlets nila nationwide so hindi pa po lahat na-adjust na ang kanilang penalties,” MMDA acting chairman Romando Artes said.

Pero aside from that, mukhang all systems go na tayo,” he added.

In May this year, seven cities, including the Manila, Quezon City, San Juan, Parañaque, Muntinlupa, Caloocan, and Valenzuela, became part of the pilot run for the single-ticketing system.

The MMDA also said delays in the delivery of handheld ticketing devices did not affect the timeline of the program

At least 30 ticketing devices will be provided to each local government unit. The agency already turned over devices to Valenzuela, San Juan, Caloocan, Parañaque, and Muntinlupa.

The agency earlier said that the offered handheld devices can provide options for cashless payments to violators.
