Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 14) — There’s still a huge demand for Filipino healthcare workers in Canada due to their expertise and skills, Canadian Ambassador to the Philippines David Hartman said.
From 2017 to 2022, Canada hired over 21,000 healthcare workers – mostly nurses and doctors.
\”Very significant number of opportunities for the healthcare industry,\” Hartman told CNN Philippines.
\”Philippine healthcare workers are known for their compassion, kindness, and most importantly their skills,\” he added.
While there is high demand for health workers from the Philippines, the ambassador said Canada remains sensitive to the prevailing domestic landscape when it comes to health professionals.
\”While we are very keen to receive Filipino healthcare workers in Canada, we want to make sure that we are respectful for the market conditions here. We want to help the ecosystem here,\” Hartman said.
