#MaPaSelectaMuna: P-Pop Band SB19 gives back to their parents

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Remember those days when your parents would come home with a pasalubong for you? Maybe it’s your turn to bring home that sweet surprise.

In its newest campaign #MaPaSelectaMuna, Selecta features top P-Pop Boy Band SB19 as its members Felip, Stell, Justin, Pablo and Josh reminisce about all the sacrifices their parents made for them when they were young.

The campaign features an ode to their fondest childhood memories and how this became their main motivation for giving back to their parents.

\”As we grow up, get our first jobs, and become breadwinners ourselves, we want to encourage people to start giving back to their parents, even with just a simple gesture of bringing home a pasalubong,\” Earl Winson Keh, Selecta Ice Cream Philippines Lead said.

With their hit song \”MaPa\” a dedication to the hard work of their parents, SB19 tugged at the heartstrings of their fans, urging them to also look back and be grateful for their parents’ love and care.

In the music video, SB19 serenades the audience with lyrics as if narrating their own gratitude towards their parents.

Each member was seen recreating their fondest memories with their parents and then later on reversing their roles, showing the audience how it’s their turn to offer their favorite ice cream tubs to their moms and dads.

According to Selecta, SB19 co-created the music video and highlighted personal stories as a different form of tribute to their parents.

\”It’s important for new generations to give back to their parents and families because it’s a way to express gratitude and acknowledge the love, care, and resources that they have invested in raising and nurturing the new generation,\” Keh said.

\”Giving back to our parents is a strong Filipino value, which can sometimes be lost on younger generations. So it’s important to have songs like \”Mapa\” that can help instill this value in our youth today,\” he added.

The well-loved ice cream brand said they hope consumers and viewers of the campaign reminisce their fun childhood memories while watching the video, reminding them of the sacrifices parents made to allow kids to grow into the people they are today.
