New COVID-19 cases fell by 9% to 2,510 on July 3-9

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 19) — A total of 2,510 new COVID-19 cases were logged from July 3 to 9, the Department of Health (DOH) reported on Monday.

An average of 359 cases were recorded daily, reflecting a 9% decrease from the previous week.

The latest count included 44 severe and critical infections, according to the DOH.Meanwhile, 382 patients in severe and critical condition are in hospitals, representing 9.3% of total COVID-19 admissions nationwide.No deaths due to COVID-19 were verified.As of July 10, the country has tallied over 4.16 million COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began with at least 4.09 million recoveries and more than 66,400 deaths.There are currently 6,437 active infections.Around 78 million individuals or 100.44% of the target population have been vaccinated against COVID-19, while 23 million individuals have already received their booster shots.
