Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 28) — No more tropical cyclones are expected to enter the country’s weather monitoring area in the remaining days of June, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Wednesday.

In a 4 a.m. briefing, PAGASA weather specialist Obet Badrina said the last low pressure area the agency monitored left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and was last spotted 250 kilometers west northwest of Laoag, Ilocos Norte. It is also expected to dissipate in the next hours.

Wala pa tayong mino-monitor din na anumang low pressure area o bagyo sa labas ng Philippine Area of Responsibility kaya posible ngayong Hunyo ay wala na tayong inaasahan bagyo na papasok o mabubuo sa loob ng Philippine Area of Responsibility,” Badrina said.

[Translation: We are not monitoring any low pressure area or tropical cyclone outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility that is why it is possible that in June we are no longer expecting any tropical cyclone that will enter or form within the Philippine Area of Responsibility.]

Badrina also said that cloudy skies are expected over the western part of Luzon and Visayas due to the southwest monsoon, or habagat. This may bring rains over Metro Manila, Mimaropa, Calabarzon, Bataan, Zambales, and Western Visayas.

The eastern portion of Luzon, meanwhile, will experience generally fair weather, but rains are still possible in the areas of Batanes and Cagayan, he added.
