
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 23) — A magnitude 5.3 earthquake struck in waters off Maconacon town in Isabela Sunday afternoon, state seismologists report.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the tectonic tremor occurred at 5:19 p.m. with a depth of 29 kilometers (kms).
It was earlier pegged at magnitude 5.6 with a depth of 55 kms.
Intensity 5 or \”strong\” shaking was felt in Maconacon, Isabela.
Intensity 4 or \”moderately strong\” shaking occurred in Delfin Albano, Isabela; Tuguegarao City, Penablanca, and Enrile, Cagayan.
Intensity 3 or “weak” shaking was logged in Luna, Flora, and Santa Marcela, Apayao; Cabagan, San Pablo, and Santa Maria, Isabela.
Jones, Angadanan, San Isidro, Dinapigue, Cordon, Ramon, San Manuel, San Mateo, and Cauayan in Isabela; Piddig and San Nicolas in Ilocos Norte; Banayoyo in Ilocos Sur experienced Intensity 2 or “slightly felt” tremors.
