DFA: No Filipino hurt, killed in Sudan clashes

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 20) — There were no confirmed injuries or deaths among overseas Filipino workers in Sudan amid clashes between the Sudanese military and a paramilitary group, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Thursday.

Citing updates from the Philippine Embassy in Cairo, the DFA also said at least 86 Filipinos in the North African country have sought repatriation.

“In coordination with the Philippine Honorary Consulate in Khartoum, our Embassy in Cairo is preparing for an ATN Mission to Sudan to facilitate evacuation and provide relief goods to Filipinos there,” said the DFA.
