Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 1) —The Philippine National Police on Saturday arrested the suspect in the killing of a college student in Dasmariñas, Cavite a few days ago.
The suspect was identified as Angelito Erlano, 39, a resident of Barangay San Nicolas 2, Dasmariñas City.
He was apprehended after an informant told authorities that he was hiding at a friend’s place, according to the investigation.
The suspect tried to attack the arresting officer with an improvised screwdriver, but the officer was able to prevent it, the police report said.
Erlano was charged with robbery with homicide and direct assault upon an agent of person in authority.
Queen Leanne Daguinsin, a graduating computer science student of De La Salle University – Dasmariñas, was found dead in her dormitory in Barangay Santa Fe, Dasmariñas last March 28. She sustained 14 stab wounds in her body and arms.
