Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 21) — A lawmaker on Tuesday warned that the three sugar importers tapped by the government will rake in billions of pesos from selling the commodity at an “outrageous” price.
\”Selling sugar at ₱85 per kilo is outrageous. Kung matino kang importer, [If you are a reasonable importer] you know that you will already get a decent profit if you sell sugar at ₱61 per kilo,\” she said in a press briefing.
