Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Filipino tennis ace Treat Huey and his doubles partner Henri Kontinen of FInland took home top honors at the Malaysian Open in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday (October 4), after beating out top seeds Raven Klaasen and Rajeex Ram 7-6(4), 6-2.
The Filipino and Finnish duo have now racked up eight consecutive wins and two trophies in just as many weeks.
The pair of Huey and Kontinen won a sudden-death point on a Klaasen and Ram serve at 4-5, 40/40. Their top seeded opponents broke their serve in the previous game and were a shot away from getting the first set.
But the Filipino and Finnish players broke back to take the opening set. The pair then ran out to a 5-2 lead in the following set, before coasting to the victory.
