
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Friday (July 24) announced that a portion of Commonwealth Avenue’s northbound lane will be closed to traffic on Monday (July 27) for the president’s State of the Nation Address (SONA).

Starting 12:01 a.m. on Monday, concrete barriers will be placed from the Ever Gotesco Mall to the St. Peter Church.
Motorists were advised to take the zipper lane or the following alternate routes:
Alternate route 1
From North Ave., turn right to Mindanao Ave., turn right to Quirino Highway to destination and vice versa
‘ ’13’:

Alternate route 2
From EDSA, turn right to Congressional Ave. straight to Mindanao Ave., turn right to Old Sauyo Rd. straight to Don Julio Gregorio and Republic Ave., turn left to Chestnut, turn right to Dahlia Ave., turn left to Fairlane or Regalado Ave. to destination and vice versa
From Quezon City Circle take North Ave., turn right to Mindanao Ave., turn right to Old Sauyo Rd. straight to Don Julio Gregorio and Republic Ave., turn left to Chestnut, turn right to Dahlia Ave., turn left to Fairlane or Regalado Ave. to destination and vice versa
‘ ’18’:

At 5:30 p.m., the MMDA will start removing the concrete barriers in Ever Gotesco Mall and St Peter’s Church as well as the zipper lane on Commonwealth Avenue.
